The Irish Australian Chamber of Commerce has today announced the launch of their Emerald Leadership Program. The program is already a huge success in Australia where it celebrates and supports established and emerging Female Leaders.
The Program is a female focused networking group with a structured program to provide peer based network and business support to the next generation of female leaders. Members will have the chance to hear from inspirational female speakers on a quarterly basis, join a peer to peer facilitated program that will fast track their development through the shared experiences of the group and each year celebrate at a lunch in Dublin.
President of the Irish Australian Chamber, Vincent Crowley said "This peer to peer roundtable has been a huge success in Australia and we are delighted to be rolling out this program in Ireland".
"It is an opportunity to bring women together from diverse industries who are seeking to advance in their careers. Not only will the attendees be providing one another with support and mentoring, introductions are being made, contacts exchanged and members of the group are being encouraged to go for promotions within their companies".
"The Emerald Program has been a revelation in Australia because at each event more new faces come through the door, relieved to be taking part in a programme that speaks to them. It is our expectation that we will achieve a similar reaction to the Irish version of the programme".

Chair of the Program, Lorraine Higgins said “I am delighted to be involved in this initiative. Because you can’t be what you can’t see our mission is to provide role models for emerging women leaders and help empower them to be the best they can be while developing a new network.
"The Program will allow people build on their strengths so they become more empowered, less reticent about going for promotion and therefore more proactive in achieving equality within their workplace." Lorraine Higgins concluded.

WHAT IS THE EMERALD LEADERSHIP PROGRAM?
The Emerald Leadership Program was set up to address the imbalance of women in senior positions or running their own businesses. The program consists of three elements:
1. A peer to peer mentoring roundtable
2. A quarterly networking event
3. Year end luncheon
The Peer to Peer Roundtable is made up of 8 women in senior roles who were chosen from applicants across the chamber. The group meets monthly to discuss their business challenges and receive mentoring from one another. The second element is a quarterly networking event, featuring a leading woman speaker and the final element is the annual Emerald Leadership Lunch.
HOW YOU CAN TAKE PART
The first thing to do is join the Chamber - sounds simple and it really is! If you want to apply for an Emerald roundtable, you will need to be a full member.
