Up Close and Personal - Jeff Doyle CEO Adecco

Jeff Doyle was our special guest at the launch of the 2013 IACC mentoring programme, held at Grant Thornton's offices in Rialto Tower Melbourne on the 5th of February 2013.

Jeff's presentation was a personal and compelling story, detailing how he progressed from his teenage years as the "next big thing" in Irish football, through to being a washed up has been at 20, starting a corporate career at 27 with no education or experience, and quickly climbing the corporate ladder to become the CEO of Adecco Australia, New Zealand, with  revenues of circa $700 million.

Some of the key takeaways from the talk included:

  1. Raw talent without hard work is not enough
  2. "Do" better than you "talk"
  3. Listen to and seek advice from experienced people when you have the choice
  4. People are the most important asset you've got. Create an environment that ensures you retain your best
  5. Have fun
